The Porsche Boxster is a bloody brilliant sports car. Trouble is, everyone knows this and so they’re as common as cornflakes. But this new special edition RS 60 Spyder is more exclusive than a quail egg omelette at the Ritz – only 1,960 will be sold worldwide. Production is limited to this unusual number because the car has been built to celebrate one of Porsche’s famous 60s racing models – the 718 RS 60 Spyder. This means nothing to us, but the fact that the new model has loads of cool upgrades does. Most important of all is a special sports exhaust, which boosts the output of the 3.4-litre flat-six engine to 303bhp, making this car the most powerful Boxster ever. It has special badging and styling features, too. There’s also a handy silver plaque on each car’s glove box that says what number it was off the production line. So, in the unlikely event you park next to another Boxster RS 60 Spyder, you’ll know which one is yours.
